Warhawk men’s baseball opener weekend ends with a win

Photo Courtesy of AUM Athletics By: Tasker Wheeler Auburn University at Montgomery men’s baseball opened their spring season with two losses against Saint Leo University and ended that Florida trip with a win. They then had a midweek matchup against Miles College in Birmingham, Alabama and unfortunately lost 7-12. This means that the team is currently sitting at a 1-3 overall record.  After the tough loss in Birmingham against Miles College, head coach Franklin Bush said “[He’s] frustrated with what we put on the field today." Head Coach Franklin added, "We consistently talk about limiting free bases, but we gave away seven walks and two hit-by-pitches. We have to do a better job of making teams earn what they get. These two wins against (Saint Leo University and Florida Southern College) on the road sparked the attention of the AUM fanbase. Since these two games the Warhawks have had an up-and-down season to date but still have that spark and perseverance that everyone is excited about. By: Kniya Potts The AUM cheerleading team is making history preparing to attend the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida in April.  This will be the first time AUM cheerleading will travel to compete for a national title.  I have been a member of the AUM cheerleading team since freshman year, and I am ecstatic to be a part of this experience. AUM women’s and men’s basketball teams performed strongly against Montevallo last week

In an after-game interview, head coach John Plefka stated enthusiastically about the women’s win, “Huge home win for us after two straight double-digit losses; we had a solid week of practice and responded right from the tip.
