Despite the waiver, as reported by Andrea Tinker for Alabama Reflector, Auburn University voluntarily decided to adopt these measures, earning the distinction of being the first public university to voluntarily eliminate its University Senate. AUM students facing advising changes

News, University
By: Hayley Richards MONTGOMERY, Ala – Auburn University Montgomery students have recently experienced changes within the advising process. Until recently, students were advised by a professor in their designated program. As of Spring 2023, students are now being advised by advising and recruiting coordinators. According to AUM students, there are pros and cons to the newly established way of advising.  Academic advisors are tasked with assisting students with course scheduling for current or future semesters, in which schedules will vary based on a student’s degree program of choice and curriculum guidelines that are set in place. However, balancing out a…

5 things-to-do before leaving for Winter Break

Opinion, University
By: Sierra Hall With finals, Christmas break, and trips to family fast approaching here are a few things to consider before abandoning your dorm. Dorms are our home away from home. Coming back for Spring Semester will be much easier if you do these 5 things! 1. Do your laundry and purge all the clothes you do not need. - It’s easy to do laundry and toss it on a chair and not think twice. Sometimes it’s even easier to toss any of the laundry (dirty or clean) into a chair and not think about it. But you’ll be happier…

Thank You, AUM

Thank You, AUM

Opinion, University
By: Van Cathcart III When I arrived at this university in Fall of 2016, I had no intention of staying here. My eyes were looking forward to greener pastures at another school. Auburn University at Montgomery was supposed to be a steppingstone for me, but it ended up being the perfect place for me to be. People say that everything happens for a reason, and if you would’ve told me that after my first semester after finishing with a 1.7 grade point average, I might have given you some choice words. I didn’t realize I needed the wake-up call that…
