Warhawks soar to victory against Albany State in baseball

By: Cameron Grant MONTGOMERY, Ala – Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) baseball team bounced back into the win column with an impressive performance against Albany State University (ASU) on Wednesday. The Warhawks dominated the game from start to finish, ultimately winning 13-3 in a non conference matchup. The Warhawks would record their 13th double digit run on the season in this game. AUM would have nine players who would score run in this game to help secure the win in this game. AUM wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard, as they plated six runs in the first inning by Clayton Phillips, Kasey Clark, Cooper Doughman, Brody Syer, Jarren Wright and Zach Dew. AUM Warhawks suffers heartbreaking loss to Saint Leo in extra innings

By: Cameron Grant MONTGOMERY, Ala – Auburn University at Montgomery's (AUM) baseball team faced off against Saint Leo University Lions last Friday. It was the first time these two teams had played against each other in a doubleheader matchup. In a doubleheader against Saint Leo, AUM's baseball team lost both games, with a final score of 9-8 in game one followed by an 8-0 loss against the Lions in game two.  AUM's Wade Chandler, Clay Slagle, Grant Hickman, Tommy Vickers, Michael Myers, and Brett Pitts allowed 16 hits combined in the first doubleheader loss against the Lions.  The Warhawks started off strong, with Clayton Phillips scoring a run in the first inning with a sacrificed RBI, while Zach Dew and Jackson Ceman both added an RBI of their own to give the Warhawks a 3-1...

AUM Warhawks Continue Winning Streak Against Tuskegee

By: Cameron Grant Auburn University at Montgomery's (AUM) baseball team won against Tuskegee University with a final score of 15-4 in their first meeting of the season last Wednesday. AUM has an all-time record of 21-1 against Tuskegee. AUM has a 14-0 home streak against Tuskegee and has won 19 consecutive games against them, making it one of the longest winning streaks for the team. AUM had an excellent start, scoring two runs in the first inning, with Kasey Clark hitting a home run to bring in two runs. In the second inning, Clayton Phillips hit the ball to the right-center field, allowing Zach Dew to score a run for AUM. Auburn Football fire Bryan Harsin

The firing came less than 48 hours after the Tigers lost to Arkansas at home by 14 points. By: Van Cathcart III Auburn University at Montgomery’s volleyball team is scheduled to take on the Mississippi College Choctaws on Nov. 11 at 1:30 p.m. AUM is moving on to the second round of the Gulf South Conference Championship after taking down Valdosta State on Nov. 7 by a final score of 3-1. The Choctaws are sitting at the number three seed in the tournament and earned a bye in the first round of the tournament. The Warhawks have met the Choctaws two other times in the past, with Mississippi taking both contests with scores of 3-1 and 3-0. The Warhawks finished with a 16-17 overall record in the regular seasons and 8-8 in conference play. Auburn University at Montgomery Men’s and Women’s Basketball Seasons Begin

By: Dalton Kimbro AUM junior and elementary education major Lucy Anthony As the pandemic began to change the world in March of 2020, many athletes had no idea that their sports were about to drastically change in the very near future. From masking, to testing and shortened seasons, many Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) athletes had a much different college athletic experience than they expected. “We had to test before each meet and were only allowed to take our masks off during the actual races,” said junior elementary education major and cross country runner Lucy Anthony. AUM's new athletic director Erik Maas is pictured here By: Van Cathcart III Montgomery, Ala. – Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) has added a new director of athletics to the roster. Erik Maas has joined the team in hopes to help all of Warhawks athletics to take the next step. Maas has almost 20 years of experience in administration, most recently at the University of Montevallo just a mere 64 miles from AUM’s campus. Maas spent the last 12 years with Montevallo, coaching baseball for the first six, and serving as an assistant athletic director for the last six years. “I got into this business almost 20 years ago coaching, helping baseball players become better players and students,” Maas said.  Development is something that Maas has taken seriously and believes ...

The Warhawks will have five different teams competing this fall: men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball. The men’s cross country team will have their first meet September 10 at the University of North Alabama’s UNA Invitational in Florence, Alabama, after finishing No. 7 in the Gulf South Conference (GSC) championship and eleventh in the NCAA Southern Regionals in 2021.
