This was only the second meeting of the two schools— the Warhawks won the previous matchup in 2018 (71-65). AUM Men’s Basketball vs. Rollins College

BY: Randy Dunn AUM’s men’s basketball team kicked off their 2019 season against the Tars of Rollins College. The gymnasium went into an uproar as the Warhawks took the court and formed their pre-game lay-up line, and as the shot clock wound down, the excitement continued to grow. This was the second matchup between the Warhawks and the Tars— in 2018, the Tars defeated AUM (86-76). AUM Men’s Soccer Weekend Recap

BY: Allison Singleterry Auburn University at Montgomery’s men’s soccer team traveled to Mississippi to participate in two conference matches. The Warhawks played the number one team in the conference, Mississippi College, on November 1. The men’s team lost 2-0. Mississippi College outshot AUM 12-6, with 6 of them being on goal, while AUM only had two shots on goal during the match. AUM fouled Mississippi College Choctaws 18 times, while the Choctaws fouled the Warhawks 13 times. AUM vs. Montevallo Recap

BY: Allison Singleterry Auburn University at Montgomery men’s soccer team is now 3rd in the Gulf South Conference standings after beating University of Montevallo in a rematch on Tuesday. They now have a conference record of 4-0-2. Montevallo is currently ranked eighth in the GSC standings and has a conference record of 3-3. AUM originally played Montevallo on Oct. 18. Unfortunately for AUM’s women’s soccer team, they are having trouble putting together a complete game. So far this year, the Lady Warhawks have mustard up just one win, which leaves them sitting with an overall record of 1-11 and a conference record of 1-6 (0-6 at home and 1-5 away.) This road test proved to be one of AUM’s toughest matchups so far. AUM beat Spring Hill, the 2018 GSC champions, 4-1. Spring Hill outshot the Warhawks 22 to 12 shots, but both teams had five shots on goal the whole game. AUM Men’s Soccer Starts New Season

Thorne became the head coach of the men’s soccer program back in December and is now coaching his first official season as a head coach this semester. Auburn University at Montgomery Makes Official Switch to NCAA

BY: Allison Singleterry Auburn University at Montgomery recently became a full Division II member of the NCAA in the Gulf South Conference. Jessie Rosa, AUM’s Director of Athletics, says it has been about a 10 year process to fully make the switch to this division and conference. This process started years ago by first having at least 10 sports participating for the university. From this point, they had to get approval from the Auburn University Board and the NCAA.
