Check Out What AUM Has to Offer

BY: Chris Porter

One thing that sets Auburn University at Montgomery apart from competing universities is the endless amount of campus services that it has to offer its students. AUM prides itself on making sure they provide the resources in and out of the classroom, in hopes that students will leave AUM with the best possible college experience. Though this is the mission, times have changed. In the midst of a pandemic, it can be challenging for a student to figure out all the benefits a university offers besides classes. The Office of Student Affairs provides all the information on different types of things you can get involved in on campus. They are located on the first floor of the Taylor Center. Below are a few highlighted services that AUM gives its students.

AUM Wellness Center

The AUM Wellness Center is the perfect place for you to stay active and work on your fitness! The Wellness Center is host to a rock climbing wall, aquatic center, weight room, indoor track, multipurpose facilities, cardio equipment area and two full-length multipurpose basketball courts. Looking for a fitness group to join? The Wellness Center provides cardio, strength and dance fitness classes for all members.

Clubs and Organizations

Here at AUM, students are able to pick and choose from over 100 clubs and organizations to join. The Office of Student Involvement and Leadership provides students with five areas of engagement: Curriculum-Related Clubs, Honor Societies, Fraternities/Sororities, Religious/Spiritual Clubs and Student Leadership.

Warhawk Health Services

Warhawk Health Services is an on-campus health care clinic that takes care of its students, faculty, staff and their dependents. As of right now, they are offering COVID-19 and flu vaccines. Both vaccines are free with insurance. Without insurance, the flu vaccine is $25. For a $5 co-payment, students are able to regularly make sick visits to the health clinic. The price is $15 for faculty, staff and dependents.

Counseling and Health Promotion Services

Throughout your college career, there will be times when you feel overwhelmed, lost and stressed. The good thing is that AUM has your back!
