BY: Jayla Brown

Homecoming King Nominee Aaron Williams

Mr. Aaron Williams is a 21-year-old senior from Mobile, Ala. He is majoring in K-12 Education. He aspires to become a football, basketball and track coach. He also has hopes to mentor young people to become great individuals. He is a Fall ‘21 initiate and proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated on AUM’s campus. He also serves as the Alpha Psi Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated Chapter’s president.

When asked about what winning Homecoming King means to him, Williams stated, “It means a lot to me coming from where I come from. Growing up I wasn’t outgoing or confident like I am now. Being the face of AUM as the King is special to me. Getting me out of my comfort zone and just being the guy I was meant to be is a great honor to have and uphold!”

Homecoming Queen Nominee Aaleia Freeman

Ms. Aaleia Freeman is a 21-year-old senior from Birmingham, Ala. She is a Business Marketing major with a minor in Information Systems. She aspires to start her own marketing firm and be a social media marketing specialist. She also hopes to start her own non-profit business for young girls where they can come and learn basic life skills. She is a Spring ‘21 initiate and proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. She serves as Vice President of the Omicron Mu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated on AUM’s campus. She is also a member of the Order of Omega Honor Society.

When asked about what winning Homecoming Queen means to her, Freeman stated, “It means a lot because I have been going to AUM since freshman year. Throughout that time I have been so involved on campus with my sorority, cheer team, and COB Ambassadors, so winning HOCO Queen allows me to get more involved and also show my school spirit.”

Congratulations to the new King and Queen!
