Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a mascot? AUM is holding mascot tryouts for the 2018-19 school year. Tryouts will be held April 17th in the AUM Gymnasium. Curtiss the Warhawk is known as the AUM mascot. Multiple mascot positions are available for the upcoming school year. Students can also tryout for the mascot committee. At the conclusion of every semester, AUM allows students to provide important feedback regarding their classes. These evaluations are known among students and faculty as Curtiss Course Evaluations. Students can anonymously rate and review their classes and professors. These evaluations are important feedback for the teachers and departments. Students are allowed to be honest about what stood out to them. Students can also provide details about what did not work for the class. Montgomery County Apprenticeships, Internships Open To AUM Students

Auburn University at Montgomery colleges students are encouraged to take advantage of the Montgomery County Commission 2018 Student Apprenticeship Program. The apprenticeship program is eight weeks starting Monday, June 4th through Friday, July 27th. All eligible students between the ages of 16 and 22 can apply. An application and a letter of recommendation from a school guidance counselor or a Montgomery County Commissioner are required and must be submitted by Friday, April 20th at 5 p.m. Internships are also available. Durr Lecture Series to Show Documentary

In conjunction with the Auburn University at Montgomery Durr Lecture Series, a showing of the documentary The Durrs of Montgomery will be shown at AUM on Friday, April 13th at 7 p.m. in Goodwyn Hall 109. Following the film, Dr. Patricia Sullivan, a historian at the University of South Carolina and Lulah Colan, one of The Durr’s daughters, will lead panel discussions. As February comes to a close, the Warhawks softball team sits at a 5-2 record. Starting the season off with not only a win, but a 9-0 shutout against the University of Mobile in the first tournament of the season was definitely the start the Warhawks wanted to get. A few years ago, a group of University Honors Program students conducted a survey that found that over one-third of AUM students experience food insecurity. To help address this issue, the honors students created a food pantry. The food pantry, which is student-led, is open to all AUM students.
