AUMFEST 2018

AUMfest is a university tradition that was started many years ago with the intention of being a fun all day event during the fall. In previous years AUMfest was planned to be a fall festival, but this year's theme is a Luau. AUMfest will be Sept. 26, 2018, from 7-10 p.m. The intended audience for this event is the student body. The Housing and Residence Life at Auburn University at Montgomery will host their annual end of the semester event, professors and pajamas. Professors and pajamas is an evening study session held before finals. Students are invited to bring their books, wear their pajamas, and enjoy a night of food, fun, prizes and test preparation. All Auburn University at Montgomery students who live on campus have to be out of their dorms by 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018. There are flyers posted in all housing facilities on each floor. Warhawk Cup Golf Tournament to Be Held April 27

The 7th Annual Warhawk Cup Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018. This event is held by AUM’s athletic department in efforts to raise money to support the AUM Women’s Basketball Team. Lagoon Park Golf Course will be hosting the golf tournament for AUM Athletics. Students can anonymously rate and review their classes and professors. These evaluations are important feedback for the teachers and departments. Montgomery County Apprenticeships, Internships Open To AUM Students

Auburn University at Montgomery colleges students are encouraged to take advantage of the Montgomery County Commission 2018 Student Apprenticeship Program. The apprenticeship program is eight weeks starting Monday, June 4th through Friday, July 27th. All eligible students between the ages of 16 and 22 can apply. An application and a letter of recommendation from a school guidance counselor or a Montgomery County Commissioner are required and must be submitted by Friday, April 20th at 5 p.m. Internships are also available. In conjunction with the Auburn University at Montgomery Durr Lecture Series, a showing of the documentary The Durrs of Montgomery will be shown at AUM on Friday, April 13th at 7 p.m. in Goodwyn Hall 109. Following the film, Dr. Patricia Sullivan, a historian at the University of South Carolina and Lulah Colan, one of The Durr’s daughters, will lead panel discussions. As February comes to a close, the Warhawks softball team sits at a 5-2 record. Starting the season off with not only a win, but a 9-0 shutout against the University of Mobile in the first tournament of the season was definitely the start the Warhawks wanted to get.
