Alabama River Region Ballet Produces a Holiday Classic: The Nutcracker

BY: Brittany Vallely

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The Alabama River Region Ballet’s production of “The Great Montgomery Nutcracker” returns to the Historic Davis Theater in downtown Montgomery for the 4th time in a row.

This is the story of girl named Clara who was given a nutcracker as a gift. As Clara falls asleep with her gift, Clara shrinks down to toy size and her beloved nutcracker comes to life. She is then taken on a wild adventure that includes the sugar plum fairies and an epic battle against the mouse king.

Elizabeth Gunter will play the role of Clara, who is the daughter of former Montgomery Mayor William Adams Gunter, according to the Visiting Montgomery Website.

This is a magical experience that you do not want to miss as the snow falls from the stage and the Nutcracker himself makes a grand entrance.

Audiences will be amazed by Stevan Grebel’s choreography and music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

This a great opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the Christmas season.
Show times are on Nov. 30 at 7:00 p.m., Dec. 1 at 7:00 p.m., and Dec. 2 at 2:00 p.m. Get your tickets before they sell out fast!
