BY: Daaiyah Latham The AUM Honors Program Food Pantry was created to help students in need of food. The program has been feeding the campus since 2016. Sonni Gunnels, a former Honor student, formed the idea. Gunnels noticed that she and others were struggling towards the end of the month with food scarcity.  In 2012, she began to pass around confidential surveys to get statistics of the food insecurity around campus. AUM men’s soccer is now on a two game winning streak after beating Florida Southern College 2-1 in Melbourne, Fla. last Sunday. The festival is intentionally held around the time and location of the “Storm Area 51” event. Just weeks before the festival was supposed to happen, they switched locations.  AlienStock has now been moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Hurricane Dorian

Developing from a tropical wave in the Atlantic Ocean on August 24 to a Category 5 hurricane on September 1, Hurricane Dorian devastated several islands and the U.S. East Coast for over a week. The current confirmed death total is at 50 with an estimated 1,300 people still unaccounted for. The hurricane reached the Bahamas right after reaching Category 5 and tore through the archipelago for two days before subsiding to a Category 2 hurricane and hitting the eastern coast of Florida.
