Favorite Hallmark Christmas Movies

BY: Molly Gray If you did not already know, the Hallmark Channel is already playing their new Christmas movies, as well as the classic ones that we all know and love. As usual, they have two channels where you can watch these movies. The first one is Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, which plays what I call the “sad movies.” Truthfully, they are the movies that are very heartwarming. The other is the Hallmark Channel, which plays movies that can be considered romantic comedies. Hallmark has something for everyone this Christmas season. One thing you probably do not do is wonder where the Christmas tree tradition started. The fact is that there are many different theories about Christmas tree origins. Here is the history of Christmas trees. Evergreen trees were used for many years by Pagans to celebrate winter festivals. Some would even use the branches to decorate their homes for the winter solstice. Lady Warhawks Lose to Mississippi College

BY: Brandon Barker The Lady Warhawks were swept by Mississippi College on Friday, losing a pivotal conference game. The Lady Choctaws won 3-0 against the Warhawks in a home game that helped boost their confidence as the season winds down. Mississippi College moves on with a record 10-19 and a total of 5 conference wins. The Warhawks move on with a record of 16-13 and 7 conference wins. BY: Randy Dunn After an unfortunate loss the night before, the Warhawks were back in action on Saturday afternoon against the Panthers of Florida Tech. This was only the second meeting of the two schools— the Warhawks won the previous matchup in 2018 (71-65). Knowing they let their first game slip away, the Warhawks hit the floor running against the Panthers. Senior guard #5 Carlos Bell put the team up 21 points while adding five rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal. On top of his stellar play, other solid players like junior guard #2 Darrion Taylor added 10 assists and nine points. AUM Men’s Basketball vs. Rollins College

BY: Randy Dunn AUM’s men’s basketball team kicked off their 2019 season against the Tars of Rollins College. The gymnasium went into an uproar as the Warhawks took the court and formed their pre-game lay-up line, and as the shot clock wound down, the excitement continued to grow. This was the second matchup between the Warhawks and the Tars— in 2018, the Tars defeated AUM (86-76). The Warhawks started the first half off strong, putting up 32 points up to Rollins’ 26, with a strong showing from senior Darrion Taylor (19 points, 4 assists, and 2 rebounds) and redshirt junior Stanley Davis (21 points, 2 assists, and a rebound).
