Want to experience a Thanksgiving event like the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? Do not worry — Alabama State University has you covered. On November 28, ASU will host their annual Turkey Day Classic Parade. The parade is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., with a football game to follow. It will take place in downtown Montgomery.
The parade will include something for everyone. Some of the entries include: decorated vehicles, floats and bands. Local schools, businesses, non-profits, and organizations will be featured. If you would like to volunteer to be a parade marshall, please visit alasu.edu. Applications are due by Nov. 13. This is a great way to enjoy the parade while giving back to the community.
The Turkey Day Classic Parade continues to grow each year. When it first started back in the 1940s, the parade only went around ASU’s campus. Now, it reaches the whole Montgomery community. Before you stuff yourself with turkey and stuffing, make sure you stop by the parade. Remember to bring your family and friends, too!
