MONTGOMERY, AL – October 20, 2022 – Candy around the World will take place on Oct. 28, at 6 p.m., before the AUM Women’s volleyball game against the University of West Alabama. The event will feature candy and refreshments from each of the 16 countries represented by the student-athletes of the AUM Athletic Department. The event will feature candy tasting, goodie bags, informational sessions and chances to win prizes! The student body is encouraged to attend before supporting the women’s volleyball game. The event is open to the public.
The AUM student chapter of the Public Relations Council of Alabama worked with their advisor, Dr. Eunyoung Kim to host an event that was inclusive and educational and that they could work in partnership with the AUM Athletics Department. The campaign and event objective is to provide a space for the students, faculty, staff, athletics, alumni and the general public to learn about how many cultures are represented at AUM. The event aims to create a discussion focusing on the Athletic Departments Diversity Statement. Sports Information Department at Auburn University at Montgomery not only recognizes and values one’s individuality but commits to cultivating an environment that fosters respect and dignity for all.
PRCA AUM strives to connect students studying communication as well as create campaigns, events and opportunities for students to learn about being a public relations practitioner.
