Coffee Shop Spots for Finals

BY: Allison Stewart

As the semester approaches the end, finals are slowly emerging.

May the coffee start brewing.

The end of the semester presents mixed emotions. There is excitement for the semester to be over, but there’s also anxiety for remaining assignments.

If you are anything like me, even thinking about my to-do list is sure to raise my blood pressure. However, preparation is key to having a successful end to the semester. Choosing the right environment to do your work in is also important.

Coffee shops are common places to find people working on homework. With their relaxing music, comfortable atmosphere and aroma of espresso, they might be the perfect spot. You will surely never find another place with more caffeinated college kids.

In the Montgomery area, there are several options to choose from. Each one has their own personal style and beverage options. Check out one of these choices today!

Cafe Louisa — 503 Cloverdale Road Montgomery, AL 36106

Prefer a cozy spot similar to home? Cafe Louisa is the place for you. With an extensive menu, you can even add a delicious meal to your study time. Some of their menu items include Tiramisu, smoked salmon bagel and a white chocolate mocha.

Visit cafelouisa.com for a look at their full menu.

Prevail Union MGM — 39 Dexter Ave #102, Montgomery, AL 36104

Looking for more of a modern atmosphere? Check out Prevail in downtown Montgomery. Its inviting atmosphere has a space for anyone. Food & Wine magazine rated their coffee as the best in Alabama — not much more needs to be said.

The Coffee Bean — 5472 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery, AL 36109

Unlike most coffee shops, The Coffee Bean offers unique outdoor seating. Most of their business is done in the drive thru, making it perfect for when you are on-the-go. Their menu includes a variety of coffee, pastries and even shaved ice.

And of course, Starbucks — Six locations outside of AUM

With a Starbucks on campus, most Warhawks are familiar with this company. Visiting another local store will still have your favorite drinks, but will also offer a fresh environment — sure to spark your studious mind!

During the last few weeks, treat yourself to a nice cup of coffee at one of these places. They are sure to have you raising your mugs to a successful semester.
