March is Women’s History Month and the Political Film Series is presenting both the trials and the accomplishments of women with a showing of the 2015 film Suffragette, introduced by Dr. Elizabeth Woodworth. This historical drama recreates the feminist movement in 1912 London, England. The Auburn University at Montgomery Student Government Association is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 academic year until March 7 at 12 p.m. Applications for the executive, legislative and judicial branch are now open for students who are interested in being an SGA member for the 2018-2019 academic year. The executive branch is composed of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Chief Justice, Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff. The exhibit will be on display until March 23 and was featured at this year’s Southern Studies Conference. About five years ago, the AUM Connected: Common Reading Program began at Auburn University at Montgomery. It was initially housed under the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching where the founder of the Warhawk Academic Success Center pushed for the program to implement the common reading program.
