The month of October fits Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) like a glove.
Whether it is the orange and black colorway that our students wear everyday, the spirit our
community has for Halloween, or that students and faculty have their annual Shriek Week at
AUM to look forward to during the last month of October every fall. Every year Shriek Week
celebrates Halloween fun by holding a variety of spooky events held by AUM’s Student
Government Association (SGA), College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) and clubs
all around campus.
Shriek Week gives students opportunities to develop better relationships with fellow
students and also express themselves whether it is through diversity or to make a statement. The
entirety of the schedule for this year’s Shriek Week has not yet been released, however, some
events that will most likely be held will be the pumpkin carving held by CLASS, the costume
party, and the haunted house held in the library all on AUM’s campus. The campus Activities
Board should be emailed at cab@aum.edu if any students or faculty are interested in being a
volunteer for 2023’s Shriek Week that is approaching at a fast rate.
Shriek Week will not be the only event that is held in the month of October this month.
Events like “The Curve Goes Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Walk,” the “Poverty and Policy
Talk,” and so much more. For all upcoming events at AUM, the “Upcoming events” section on
AUM’s home page has all the dates our community might need to ensure all necessary dates get
through. There are not yet any official dates for this year’s Shriek Week at AUM, however, it is a
Warhawk tradition and should be on the last week of this October.
