By: Mason Lawrence Halloween is a very fun time of year, but for it to be fun, you need to stay safe. Whether youare going to a party, trick-or-treating or a fall festival, there are several ways that you can havefun and be safe. Firstly, if you have kids or little ones with you, make sure you keep an eye onthem. With everyone in costumes, it is easy to lose sight and get separated. Your kid will mostlikely be matching at least one other kid, so it is important to keep them close. To prevent this,you can hold the child’s hand, as well as setting up a meeting spot if you are to get separated.Secondly, make sure to be aware of your surroundings. Her training begins with a workout in the Wellness Center from 8-9 a.m., and after classes she ends with practice in the gym from 4:30-7 p.m. Torquetti says these tough practices usually consist of “a lot of reps of swinging, blocking, passing [and other] volleyball movements.” Torquetti’s stats prove thepractices are valuable as her season highs consist of nine total blocks and 16 points against LeeUniversity last Friday. Every year Shriek Weekcelebrates Halloween fun by holding a variety of spooky events held by AUM’s StudentGovernment Association (SGA), College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) and clubsall around campus. Shriek Week gives students opportunities to develop better relationships with fellowstudents and also express themselves whether it is through diversity or to make a statement. October 5th is opening night for Red Bike by Caridad Svich.Val Winkleman is directing the show and has directed many plays put on in the AUM theatre.Last year she directed The Revolutionists and has overseen wardrobe, stage design and everyother facet of theatre for many other AUM productions .
