Halloween Safety PSA

By: Mason Lawrence

Halloween is a very fun time of year, but for it to be fun, you need to stay safe. Whether you
are going to a party, trick-or-treating or a fall festival, there are several ways that you can have
fun and be safe. Firstly, if you have kids or little ones with you, make sure you keep an eye on
them. With everyone in costumes, it is easy to lose sight and get separated. Your kid will most
likely be matching at least one other kid, so it is important to keep them close. To prevent this,
you can hold the child’s hand, as well as setting up a meeting spot if you are to get separated.
Secondly, make sure to be aware of your surroundings. If you see any suspicious activity,
make sure to say something. This could also apply to college kids attending parties. Make sure to
keep an eye on your beverage, if you are of age, as well as organizing a safe way home. Thirdly,
be careful eating certain candies as some have been recalled. Also pace yourself while eating
candy so you don’t end up making yourself sick. To have the best Halloween possible everybody
should be looking out for one another.
