The Wellness Center

The Wellness Center on Auburn University at Montgomery’s (AUM) campus is
something you might have overlooked. In the very front of AUM you can see the building
known as the Wellness Center. Built in 2012, the Wellness Center houses many different
amenities to anyone who attends or has attended AUM, or someone who is affiliated with the
University.
The modern gym has everything that anyone would ever need to improve their fitness,
and is even home to several class rooms for a plethora of different classes. Inside the doors you
can find basketball courts, a full weight room, a cardio equipment area, two full multi-purpose
rooms, an indoor track, locker rooms, a rock-climbing wall and an aquatic center featuring a full-
size swimming pool with a hot tub. Outside you can also find a disc golf course, and even an
outdoor sand volleyball court.
There are also many opportunities to join group classes in the Wellness Center. These
classes can include anything from cardio classes to dance fitness to get your body back into the
grove of things. “Nearly 50,000 votes were cast in the poll, which identifies the top schools,
businesses, and service providers in Montgomery’s tri-county area. AUM’s Wellness Center also
earned top honors in the “Best Yoga/Pilates” category. In all, AUM received award nominations
in five categories.” Via Montgomery Advertiser Readers’ Choice Awards 2022. Even if you
aren’t looking to be included in a class, the Wellness Center’s state-of-the-art weight room and
pool are there for you to get a quick workout in alone, if you so choose. AUM is now also proud to say that air hockey, foosball, and shuffleboard is now featured in the Wellness Center on
campus.
While students get into the fitness gym for free, others are required to have a membership
to enjoy the things that the Wellness Center have to offer. Memberships vary in price and start at
$10 a month for spouses or dependents and are $50 a month for members of the AUM Alumni
Association.
The Wellness Center has a lot to offer and has everything you might need to reach your
fitness goals and aspirations. If you haven’t taken advantage of this top-tier recreation center on
campus, you should soon. Monday through Thursday hours are from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday,
the doors open at 5 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., Saturday it opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. and
on Sundays it becomes available at noon until 7 p.m.
