The Warhawk Resource Center Has All the Answers

BY: Chris Porter

If you didn’t already know, there is a dedicated place at AUM that focuses on assisting students in any way possible. This place gives you information about all of the news happening around campus while also helping you find your way around and more. Who doesn’t love resources? This place is called the Warhawk Resource Center (WRC), and it plays a crucial role in linking AUM students to the assistance they need. The WRC just moved its office location to the second floor of the Taylor Center, directly across from the AUM Bookstore.

In order to learn more about the WRC, I talked to Angela Pringle and Brandon Williams. Ms.Pringle is the Welcome Center Coordinator, and she shared some thoughts about the WRC as a whole: “We provide a variety of services to help during your time at AUM as a student, guest, or employee. Whether you need directions to a department on campus, information about current events, how to apply for admissions, or a flyer approved for your club – our friendly and knowledgeable student ambassadors, as well as myself, are waiting to assist you.”

One of the main reasons the WRC wasn’t previously getting the attention it deserved was due to its secluded location. When asked about the new location, Ms. Pringle replied, “I love having my office located on the second floor of the Taylor Center because I am able to connect with the students throughout the day, between their classes and working. It definitely brings the needed exposure to the WRC that’s been missing for a while, according to our students and staff members. I really enjoy being able to share encouraging words and to help brighten their day along the way.”

Brandon is the student assistant at the WRC, and he’s a dedicated member of the team who loves interacting with and helping other students. When asked to share his favorite part about working at the WRC, Brandon shared, “The communication and networking. I’ve met some amazing people, my coworkers included, and I like being able to assist anyone that would need it. The Resource Center has an amazing and compassionate team of student ambassadors that strive to help and make life at AUM easier, even if only a little. We don’t know everything, but what we don’t know, we can learn.”

The WRC is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. For more information, call 334-394-5577 or visit their website.
