If you did not already know, the Hallmark Channel is already playing their new Christmas movies, as well as the classic ones that we all know and love. As usual, they have two channels where you can watch these movies. The first one is Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, which plays what I call the “sad movies.” Truthfully, they are the movies that are very heartwarming. The other is the Hallmark Channel, which plays movies that can be considered romantic comedies. Hallmark has something for everyone this Christmas season. Here’s what I found to be some favorite Hallmark movies.
Ashley Taylor, AUM student and Hallmark Christmas movie-lover, says that her favorite new Hallmark Christmas movie so far is Merry and Bright. This movie has Jodie Sweetin (Full House) and Andrew Walker starring in it. Sweetin plays Cate, who is the CEO of Merry & Bright Candy Cane Company. Walker plays Gabe, who works for Empire Corporate Recovery. The two start spending time together and noticing that they have a lot in common (hallmarkchannel.com). Taylor says, “I like this one because it isn’t like anything I have seen Hallmark do before.” Her favorite classic Hallmark movie is Christmas Under Wraps starring Candace Cameron Bure. “I pretty much like any movie with Candace Cameron Bure in it,” says Taylor.
My favorite new Hallmark Christmas movie is Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses. This was the very first movie that Hallmark premiered. It stars Jill Wagner and Matthew Davis. Wagner plays Abbey, who wants to be an interior decorator and gets a job decorating Nick’s (Davis) home for Christmas Eve (hallmarkchannel.com). It is a lovely story of love and of family.
It is difficult for me to pick one movie that is my favorite. However, I would say A Very Merry Mix-up is probably it. Others I enjoy are Let It Snow, A December Bride, and Christmas Joy.
