Student Health Clinic and Counseling Center: What Your Campus Can Do for You

AUM’s Student Health Clinic is a primary care facility available to students, faculty, staff, and their dependents. Located in the College of Nursing and Health Services, Irma B. Moore Hall, Room 102, this office provides comprehensive health services for students with a valid ID. They are available Monday-Friday, 8:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Patients will receive “prompt, quality, cost-effective and individualized health care,” says the SHS primary website. The clinic provides primary care for “sick” visits, physical examinations, women’s health examinations, contraceptive counseling, sexually transmitted infection(s) testing, laboratory testing, and referral services. In April, students in Larry Moore’s Video Production course had the opportunity to take a tour of Alabama News Network with weather reporter Ryan Stinnett as our tour guide. The tour started with Ryan explaining the different channels that the station works for, ABC and CBS, and how the work shifts, which are not your typical first, second and third shift. Twenty American flags will be placed on campus in November as a symbol for the 20 veterans who commit suicide every day. Lip syncing has become an enormously popular form of entertainment over the past decade. Television shows such as “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “Saturday Night Live” are known to include hilarious lip-syncing skits. There is even a show dedicated solely to lip syncing, appropriately called “Lip Sync Battle,” where celebrities lip sing and dance to well-known songs.
