AUM Warhawks Continue Winning Streak Against Tuskegee

Auburn University at Montgomery’s (AUM) baseball team won against Tuskegee University with a final score of 15-4 in their first meeting of the season last Wednesday. AUM has an all-time record of 21-1 against Tuskegee. AUM has a 14-0 home streak against Tuskegee and has won 19 consecutive games against them, making it one of the longest winning streaks for the team.

AUM had an excellent start, scoring two runs in the first inning, with Kasey Clark hitting a home run to bring in two runs. In the second inning, Clayton Phillips hit the ball to the right-center field, allowing Zach Dew to score a run for AUM. Nick Freeman hit the ball to the left-center field, bringing in Phillips to score, increasing their lead to 5-0. AUM finished the second inning with a total of four runs, making it 6-0 against Tuskegee.

AUM continued to increase their lead in the third inning with Jake Spivey hitting a ball from Phillips to the right-center field, allowing the scoring to begin for AUM. Jacksons Ceman and Phillips scored off Freeman’s double to the left-center field. AUM scored a total of five runs in the third inning, ending it with an 11-0 lead against Tuskegee. Tuskegee scored in the fourth inning, but AUM responded with a score of 14-1. The game ended in the seventh inning, with AUM finishing with a score of 15-4 against Tuskegee. AUM’s next home game will be a doubleheader against Saint Leo University on Thursday at 2 p.m. followed by the second game at 5:30 p.m.
