Montgomery, Ala. – Sept. 18, 2020 – Finding and keeping a healthy peace of mind in our present-day world can be quite difficult for anyone. Imagine being a college student, trying to adjust to the new responsibilities that come with being away from home along with classroom responsibilities and the new challenges the Covid-19 pandemic has brought.
AUM’s Counseling and Health Promotion Services is reaching out to students by offering a 6-week class beginning Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 3:30 p.m., via Zoom. “Strengthening Inner Peace” is designed to help students build and strengthen a sense of peace within themselves.
Some of the topics to be discussed during the Zoom sessions include: what is inner peace, how to support it, and how to find meaning and purpose in your life.
While students might be hesitant to discuss some of the daily struggles they face with finding and maintaining peace, these Zoom meetings will provide a safe, private environment for each student to process struggles, learn more about themselves and build skills for future coping.
This 6-week class is open to all students. If interested in attending via Zoom, please contact the AUM Counseling and Health Promotion Services at (334) 244-3469 or counselingcenter@aum.edu.
