Weekly Life Hacks: Dryer Sheets

BY: Ambria Davis

Dryer sheets are mainly used to remove static and freshen clothes when you put them in the dryer; however, you can use these sheets for other hacks in life.

The dryer sheet was invented in 1970 as a way to soften and improve the comfort of clothes. It helps against static. During that time, they were only used for the dryer machines. Now, they are used in several different ways around the home. When you place one or two at the bottom of your trash can, you will eliminate the odor of the trash can and you can replace the sheets every couple of weeks. You can even stash a couple in your closet, air vents, book shelves, and drawers, or put some in clothes or bedding while traveling or moving. If there are hard water stains and soap scum in the bathtub, then you can use the sheets to scrub the stains away.

If you are looking to freshen up your clothes and closet, then you should use the fragrance dryer sheets. However, if you are looking to clean a chrome sink or a household product that does not need a fragrance, then you should use fragrance-free dryer sheets. There are many ways you can use a simple dryer sheet to brighten up your everyday uses in your home. Dryer sheets are very simple to use and are very resourceful.
