The Top 10 Halloween Costumes of 2018

The month of October is one of the most favorable times of the year for millennials. Haunted houses, scary movies, local fairs, and finding the ultimate costume.

Dressing up like a certain character or object can take a lot of planning, putting costume pieces together, finding identical accessories, getting together with friends, and taking the right picture to post on social media is all part of the fun.

Halloween is also the one night of the year where everyone expresses themselves, and shows off their creative side. Therefore, here are the most popular costumes to look out for this year.

 

Killer Clown : Makeup is a type of art form, and Halloween is the time to show off one’s special effects skills. People like creating fake flesh wounds, sharp teeth, and stitches all over their face. “It” the clown is bound to make a scene, since the remake movie was released last year. The fear of clowns is also a common phobia in society, and has appeared at hunted houses for years.

Riverdale Characters: Riverdale is a popular show on Netflix, and is all about solving a mystery. Dressing up like a river vixen with friends, dying your hair red for the night, or finding a biker’s jacket just screams Riverdale.

Superheroes: There is no doubt that people are going to want to dress up as their favorite superhero. The fuss over Marvel’s Infinity War continues to be a hot topic, and lots of people are going to be walking around with their own gauntlets. Wonder Woman will also be the most popular hero from D.C. since she is a powerful female character, and there are tons of way to create her armored look. People can then dress up with their friends and go out as their own team.

Donald Trump: There are tons of jokes about our current president’s appearance. People will get the idea right off the bat when they see the orange skin and bright blonde hair. The costume is guaranteed to get people’s attention since he is a public figure. Learning his dialect also makes the character come to life.

The Purge: The horror film The First Purge came out this year and has a whole new look. The costume can be classy, but yet scary at the same time with the new glowing mask and props.

Unicorn: People can use all the colors of the rainbow if they like for this costume. The makeup includes a lot of sparkle and colorful hair. People can a wear a white dress or a simple onesie and still look cute. Don’t forget the horn and tail is the most important part.

Scare Crow: Scare crow is cute and simple. The makeup shows off your creative side and the costume is easy to find. Just grab find yourself a plaid T-shirt, jeans, boots, and cowboy hat and you are all set.

Creepy Girls: No one really knows what this look is. Maybe they are psycho killers or bloody vampires, but the costume works for girls when they do not know what to go as. This costume never fails to make an appearance because the long black boots and stocking are highly fashionable in the fall.

Joker and Harley Quinn: Even though this costume has been admired for the past two years, it is not quite dead yet. Joker and Harley Quinn can be a couple’s idea, or a stand-alone. Either way, both characters are mincing and are fun to play for the night.

Disney Princess: There are so many princesses to choose from now, and making your own princess costume can take a person back to their childhood dreams. Girls usually use a colored skirt that matches the princess’ color scheme, and then find a matching shirt and accessory from the character. If you can find someone to dress up as your prince, then your costume is golden to stand out.

 

When in doubt you can always dress up as one of the top 10 if you do not know what to go as yet. Start preparing, make plans with friends, go out and get some candy, but most importantly be responsible.
