The City of Prattville’s Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade

BY: Molly Gray

The City of Prattville will host its annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Christmas Parade during the first week in December.

The Christmas Tree Lighting will be held on December 5, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. Local dancers and musicians will start the event with various carols and dances that they have prepared. The tree will officially be lighted at 7 p.m. Santa Claus will come shortly afterwards for children to see him and take pictures with him. The Christmas tree will be the center of the Christmas lights display in downtown Prattville.

The next night, December 6, 2019, the City will host the Christmas Parade at 7 p.m. It will run through downtown Prattville, so Main Street will be closed for the parade. Applications are available if you want to enter a float in the parade. The parade will be filled with locals passing out candy to the people lining the streets.

For both events, please be cautious when driving around these areas. Keep your eye out for anyone who may be crossing the streets.
