Music fuels our souls. It is what makes us sing. It is what makes us dance. Music can bring us tears, or it can make us smile from ear to ear. The music industry is always changing and bringing forth new icons and legends for people to look up to. Macio Malone (also known as MC Burn Em), a student at AUM, is looking to be one of the many legends that we look up to in the music industry.
Malone was influenced by music at a very young age. At 13 years old, he began writing and recording his own music. His influences came from megastars like Eminem, J. Cole and Lil Wayne.
Although megastars heavily influenced Malone, his Uncle Scoop taught him that “your persona is a natural part of your performance” and that “your personality is amplified it’s not forced because it’s driven from the passion of your words and delivery as if to say “I really mean this” without saying so.”
Malone hopes that both his persona and personality are equally shone through his new project.
His newest project, “Flammable Vol.1: The Beginning” is a hip-hop and rap EP. The project, which dropped October 1, is a lyrical composition that showcases Malone’s numerous artistic talents. This project is just the beginning of what’s to come.
Malone hopes that many people will be inspired by his artistry and that an impact will be left on those who listen to the project. In the future, he wishes to see his music “be a part of everyone’s lives and to be one of the greats.” You can find it on just about any of your favorite streaming platforms. Malone reminds us that supporting your local independent artists is very important and should not be overlooked.
