Though it does not feel like it outside, the fall season is upon us. This means that people will start decorating and getting ready for Halloween and Thanksgiving. It also means for many that they will be getting their fall wardrobe ready. But have you thought about getting your hair ready for fall?
I spoke with hair stylist Alex McCord from Framework Hair Salon in Prattville, Ala. about the fall hair trends she often sees this time of the year. McCord said, “The fall hair colors that are the most popular are reds, burgundy, and chocolate brown.” However, we focused on the three main hair colors: blonde, brunette and red.
When it comes the blondes, clients tend to like to add dimension to their hair. This means that they like to add deep brown lowlights. They also like to go darker in the fall. To do this, many will get balayage, which means that the color is painted onto the hair to create a more natural look. According to McCord, it also helps the darker color that blondes go for stay longer.
Brunettes tends to lean more towards two specific colors of highlights to complete their fall look. Some of them like to go with caramel highlights, which will lighten up their look. Others like to add different shades of red to their hair to make the fall look truly come through. Though there are other colors for brunettes to choose from, these two are the most popular ones.
Like blondes, red heads like to add dimension to their hair. McCord said, “Red heads like to add dimension to their hair with lowlights to break up the color of their hair.” They do this through using blonde or brown lowlights usually.
