Attention all AUM students! It is time to register for Fall 2022. Every student is going to have to meet with their academic advisor by emailing their advisors and scheduling an appointment to get signed up for classes. If a student doesn’t know who their advisor is or needs assistance, they can send an email to advisinghelp@aum.edu. It is important that every student meets with their advisor right away before the classes reach full capacity.
AUM Admissions Counselor Kyle Edwards shared some information about the process of registering for classes and the way to go about it. He mentioned four good reasons why a student should register for classes early instead of waiting until the last minute. One of the reasons is the student will get the professors they want to teach the class. The second reason is that a student will have a better chance of getting the schedule they want. This benefits students who have part-time jobs or have other extra-curricular activities because they will be able to balance their schedules out.
The third reason is that a student can avoid headaches by registering early. Those headaches include financial aid, paperwork and eligibility. Registering early would avoid a lot of those headaches because the student will be well aware of the problem before it gets late. It can also help a student avoid having an academic hold on their account. A lot of students who wait until the last minute to register for class find themselves either not taking as many classes as they wanted to or not taking any at all for that semester. The last reason he shared for registering early is that a student can get advised earlier.
In conclusion, it is best to schedule an advising appointment early to get registered for classes. If you haven’t got registered yet, do it as soon as possible so you will be set for the semester.
