AUM to Offer New Minor in Nutrition

There is a new minor being offered through the Kinesiology Department in the College of Education. This Sports Nutrition minor is open to all students, but may be especially beneficial to students who are in a health-related major. The minor will be comprised of a sequence of classes that will make a total of 26 credit hours. There are two additional courses for those who are interested in continuing on to pursue a graduate degree in nutrition, such as a Registered Dietitian program. The Cross Country team consists of members who run long races over varied terrains, including hills, roads, mud puddles, grassy fields, rocky paths, and sometimes even shallow streams. AUM’s Student Health Clinic is a primary care facility available to students, faculty, staff, and their dependents. Located in the College of Nursing and Health Services, Irma B. Moore Hall, Room 102, this office provides comprehensive health services for students with a valid ID. They are available Monday-Friday, 8:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Patients will receive “prompt, quality, cost-effective and individualized health care,” says the SHS primary website. The clinic provides primary care for “sick” visits, physical examinations, women’s health examinations, contraceptive counseling, sexually transmitted infection(s) testing, laboratory testing, and referral services.
