Hope you have your bats ready to swing into the new baseball season! With the start of the season around the corner, here are some things you need to know.

In the 2021 season, the team finished with an 18-23 record. In Gulf South Conference (GSC) play, they recorded a 16-20 record. In one of the conference wins, the Warhawks were able to come on top with an astonishing 23-3 win over the University of Montevallo. The team was able to continue with post-season play but lost two games against Lee University (Tenn.) and Valdosta State University, which ended their run. The team batted an average of .278 with an on-base plus slugging percentage of .742. AUM did a good job with getting on base, as their slugging percentage was .370.

There is a player that you should keep your eye on, and his name is Jackson Ceman. Ceman was named to the 2021 GSC Spring Academic Honor Roll, as he played 34 games with 32 starts. He batted .360, which is good enough for the second-highest average on the team currently. Ceman scored 29 runs while sending 26 home, along with 11 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games. Come out and support AUM baseball– the first game and home game of the season is Feb. 1. The game starts at 3 p.m. and will be held at the AUM Baseball Complex.
