AUM Clubs and Organizations on Campus

BY: Brandon Barker

There are many campuses around the country that have clubs and organizations. These clubs are a part of the campus lifestyle or college experience. They give you an outlet to express yourself like you were not able to in high school, and you are more likely to meet  individuals like yourself. If you want to join in on the fun, AUM has loads of campus clubs and organizations that you can join today.

There are many clubs on campus to attract everyone on campus. Some of them even align with the majors that AUM offers. For example, the Communications Department has many clubs that anyone can join. AUM Live is the newest club that organizes events and covers school- wide news. It gives  hands-on communications practice that involves real-world work, especially for graduating seniors who do not have an internship or other experience.

Theatre AUM Guild (TAG) is also a curriculum-related club on campus. AUM students can join this club where meet and perform plays on campus. Members even travel to off campus events and perform there as well. AUM has a great Theatre Program that has won numerous awards and contest, thanks to the awesome teachers and directors.

There is an Entrepreneurship Club on campus that is very interesting. This club helps students develop plans and ideas for business ventures. The club can help you turn an idea into something real that you can use while you are in school. This is essential for young men and women who want to venture into entrepreneurship after graduating. The Entrepreneurship Club coincides with the Marketing Club, which is another curriculum-based club. This club provides ways to understand current and former marketing strategies used, and which ones worked and which did not. The work between students and faculty makes this much easier, as you are there to help each other as well as yourself.

AUM does not have only curriculum-based clubs or organizations. There are some that are pure fun and created by your peers at AUM. A recent club that has been formed is a Bass Fishing Club. This club will inform you all about the proper way to fish, which is very popular in Alabama. Once you have learned the techniques, you will eventually get to try out what you learned with your peers as they help you.

This is only a small portion of the clubs on campus at AUM. There are many more clubs and honor societies, as well as fraternities and sororities on campus. Each is unique, and they always are wanting more members to come and join in on the fun. If you want to know more or see a list of some of the clubs on campus, visit the Clubs and Organizations tab on AUM’s website.
