MONTGOMERY, Alabama (March 6, 2023) – The Civil Rights to Civic Virtue (CRCV) Society is hosting a luncheon featuring L’Rai Arthur-Mensa, Project Director Local Projects designer of Legacy Museum, as guest speaker. The luncheon will take place on March 8th, from 11 a.m. -1 p.m., at Taylor Center 221 on the Auburn University at Montgomery campus. Arthur-Mensa has an extensive background in designing exhibits and has worked with several museums in the United States.
“The CRCV Society aims to determine whether an increase in virtue literacy, civil rights literacy, and community engagement can lead to growth in civic virtue. This project addresses important needs within the university and local community by facilitating meaningful community-engaged learning experiences and deepening their capacity to act as partners in addressing the ongoing impacts of historic injustice within a city known as the birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement. The mission of the Auburn University at Montgomery Civil Rights & Civic Virtue Society is to foster civic identity, commitment, and civic-mindedness through community-engaged learning experiences.”
