Alabama Shakespeare Festival’s Last Spring Production: As You Like it

BY: Brittany Vallely

The Alabama Shakespeare Festival (ASF) has been producing one show after another this season and next on the schedule is As You Like It, one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies.

This show is extra important because it is the last show in their spring season– another show will not open until after summer is over. This show also does not run as long as others, so it is important to get your tickets now.

According to the ASF website, As You Like It is a beguiling game of love, desire, and mistaken identity that revels in the pleasure of life. The old saying, “People will do crazy things for love,” truly shows in this play– even if it means losing your place in power.

Audiences will have the opportunity to watch professional actors, enjoy snacks and refreshments, and visit the ASF gift shop.

Other performances at ASF include: Our Town, Winnie the Pooh, Steel Magnolias, Romeo & Juliet, and Into the Breeches.

Student rush tickets are available for some shows– you can receive up to two $20 discount tickets. All you need to do is arrive at the box office one hour before the show starts and present your student ID card.

Rush tickets are not available in advance for As You Like It, but you can get discount tickets in advance for Our Town, Romeo & Juliet, and Into the Breeches by using the online access code RUSH.

As You Like It opens April 11 and runs through until April 25. For more information on show times and tickets, please contact the ASF Box Office.
