SGA Applications for 2018-2019 Academic Year Now Open

The Auburn University at Montgomery Student Government Association is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 academic year until March 7 at 12 p.m. Applications for the executive, legislative and judicial branch are now open for students who are interested in being an SGA member for the 2018-2019 academic year. The executive branch is composed of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Chief Justice, Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff. You must have been an active member of the Student Government Association for the 2017-2018 academic year to qualify for these positions. Positions for the legislative branch include three senators for the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education and College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The ...

Women’s Basketball Team Prepares for 2019 Season

The Women's basketball team is one game away from completing their 2018 season. In the beginning of the season, the Warhawks came out of the Gulf South Conference with a 2-0 record, beating not only Tuskegee, but Miles College as well. With losses to Young Harris College, Tuskegee, and Lee in November, the Warhawks had a change of pace and started off December with a win over Shorter. As the 2017 year came to a close, the Warhawks fell to Anderson College at home on December 30th. The Warhawks’ first win of the 2018 year came on January 13th when they took down The University of Alabama at Huntsville. In January and February of 2018, the Student Government Association (SGA) worked diligently to communicate and meet the needs of the student body. We received the highest level of student participation and engagement in years. We had over 50 students attends our SGA Senate meeting on January 29th, 2018, and we had over 30 students attend our town hall meeting the next day. As SGA President, I am proud that SGA had an opportunity to facilitate the conversation and communicate the needs, desires, and goals of the student body. Goodwyn Gallery To Host Solo Exhibition

Don’t forget to check out Annie B. Campbell’s solo exhibition “Extracted” in Goodwyn Gallery! The exhibit will be on display until March 23 and was featured at this year’s Southern Studies Conference. With a focus in ceramics, Campbell’s works range from wall mounted to installations to freestanding pieces. The pieces represent the natural environment as she addresses the effects of extraction of fossil fuels and forestry. “My work investigates environmental destruction and our relationship to its effects, both physical and psychological,” Campbell states on her gallery webpage. “My aim is to simultaneously exemplify the innate connection between humans and the earth, and lay bare that we are unwittingly conducting ourselves toward our own demise.” Campbell is an Assistant Pro...
