Montgomery Education Foundation to Host “Brain Brawl” in Taylor Center

Want to test your knowledge? Gather a team of five, and head to the “Brain Brawl”! Photo by MEF. This benefit event for the Montgomery Education Foundation will feature a trivia competition, consisting of three nine-question rounds. Trivia Topics will include arts and culture, sports, math, science, geography and history. The competition is open to all schools, churches, and individuals. The entrance fee to participate is $150. There will be gifts and other prizes presented to the teams who raise the most money, the teams with the most creative names, and to the teams with the best uniforms. Third Annual “Hoops Madness” to Take Place This Week

AUM will kick off the 2017-2018 basketball season with its annual “Hoops Madness” on Thursday, October 19. This year’s event will consist of a 3-point challenge, a dunking competition, and promotional games. The Athletics Department and the Student Government Association team up each year to rally support for the men’s and women’s basketball teams as they prepare for the upcoming season. “Hoops Madness” is a great way for supporters to honor and celebrate the Warhawks. It’s also a great way for the student athletes to introduce themselves. They tell everyone their names so that when the games come around, you’ll know who to cheer for. Auburn University at Montgomery’s first women’s volleyball team is scheduled to play under the leadership of Coach Melissa Robinson. A strong coach with dedicated players could make this inaugural team unstoppable. Photos by Frank Williams. Coach Robinson came to AUM with a strong history as a team player and a coach. As a coach, Robinson’s record shows her as having built Tuskegee’s volleyball program to lead Tuskegee to its season of 32-32, coached four all-conference performers, including the 2015 Co-SIAC Player of the Year, one All-South Region performer, as well as, guiding at least one student-athlete to the NCAA Division II Statistical Championship in aces per set her first season.
