Top Five Reasons To Join Clubs On Campus

You’re in college and you have a lot of time on your hands. You don’t have as many classes as you did in high school, and maybe don’t know what to do with this extra time. Instead of wasting it away, join one or two clubs on campus. There are many benefits to joining a club or organization that will propel you through your college experience. Whether you are a freshman or a senior, it is never too late to get started. Here are the top five reasons you should join a club on your campus. 

  1. Networking– Depending on the club you join, you are likely to meet other students who plan on having the same career as you. Connecting with these people can give you an advantage in the job field. Helping each other find jobs and internships can also be a major benefit.
  2. Resume Builder– Most employers look for experience when they’re considering a potential hire. Clubs or organizations are the next best thing you could have. It shows that you are active and trying to improve on what you already know. 
  3. Make Friends– After  entering college, most kids are away from home and know no one. Joining clubs is a great way to meet new people with similar interests and make friends. Friends are a great way to make your transition easier.
  4. Gain New Skills– Clubs or organizations you join do not always have to involve your major. They could involve  a hobby or something you have always been interested in. This will give you the opportunity to gain a new skill that you can use for fun or a side hustle. 
  5. Make Money– Some clubs and organizations give you opportunities to make money. Some clubs can help you find a job, on or off-campus and even connect you with career opportunities around town that you would have never heard of. 

Those are the top five reasons to join a club or organization on campus. Even if you do not find a club that you are interested in, some schools allow you to create your own club. With enough people interested in joining, you can run and participate in an organization of your own.
