Many students are not aware of the student discounts offered around Montgomery, Ala. Take advantage of your student status and save money. Using your Student ID can get you up to ten percent off food, free drinks, free shipping with online stores, and much more.
One of the most expensive things about being in college is paying for the required textbooks and supplies. Amazon offers a membership, Amazon Prime Student, offering discounted items that are necessities for students. They offer a six month free trial that gives students free, two day shipping and access to all of the available offers. While not every item is available on Amazon, many of the required textbooks can be rented at a cheap rate using the Amazon Prime Student membership. Once the trial ends, the membership costs $49 a year. This fee includes hundreds of free songs, movies, and tv-shows. It also continues the use of free two-day shipping.
There are a plethora of restaurants that offer deals around the city. Students are available to use their student ID for a ten percent discount at places such as:
- McDonalds’s
- Waffle House
- Dairy Queen
- Buffalo Wild Wings
- Burger King
Students are able to receive a free drink with the purchase of a meal at Chick-Fil-A and Chipotle.
Students shopping for insurance or technology can use their student ID to receive discounts at places such as:
- Sprint
- AT&T
- T-Mobile
- Allstate
- Geico
Students using public transportation are eligible for discounts with the Montgomery Area Transit System. A single ride with a valid student ID costs only $1. A weekly pass totals $15. This pass gives students unlimited rides for the week the pass is first used. A monthly pass costs $25. This pass gives students unlimited rides for 31 days straight.
Using student discounts can help save money on everyday items. Listed above are only a few places that offer discounts to students. Not all businesses around town offer student discounts, however, it doesn’t hurt to ask before you make a purchase.
