MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Due to rain expected this weekend, Zoo weekend at the Montgomery Zoo has been rescheduled for March 23 thru March 24. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The 42nd annual zoo weekend was scheduled to take place March 9-10 but due to expected wet weather, officials with the zoo decided it would be best for the animals and activities to reschedule for a later date.
According to the Zoo’s website, the weekend will be a festive event with live entertainment, games, rides, bouncy houses, big slides, inflatables, pony and camel rides, petting zoo, karate demos, Montgomery Police K-9 presentation, live animal presentations, concessions and animals from around the world. The event takes place every year in hopes to gain membership by giving $10 off the purchase of a zoo membership. This weekend also gives families the chance to experience the hundreds of different animals, exabits and rides throughout the property.
The event sponsors include WCOV FOX 20, Cumulus Broadcasting (Mix 103.3, Fox 95.1, WLWI 92.3 and Y-102), SUBWAY, The City of Montgomery and the Montgomery Area Zoological Society. Local Musical entertainment will be on the mainstage all weekend followed by local schools, first responders and Churches preforming on the Jaguar stage.
