AUM is hosting a graphic design art show from October 27 through November 5, 2021. The show allows graphic design students the opportunity to showcase their art. It also allows them to enter their art for a chance to receive discounted submissions for Addy Awards. The graphic art will include single pieces, illustration, packaging and advertising. Online art will also be featured, such as websites, app prototypes and videos.
The submissions will be displayed at the Cason McDermott Art Gallery, which was formerly known as Goodwyn Gallery. The name was changed on February 9, 2021, in honor of former student Cason McDermott. McDermott’s “presence at AUM not only had a positive and lasting influence on the lives of her peers, but she left an impression on the faculty within the Department of Fine Arts that is sure never to fade.”
AUM’s Fine Arts program allows students to explore a multitude of arts from graphic design, analog and digital photography to musicology and even 3D printing. The Cason McDermott Art Gallery is a helpful resource that allows students to showcase their hard work.
You can find current and past exhibits on AUM’s website. The gallery regularly features work by students, faculty and nationally recognized artists. Although submissions are closed for this particular art show, students are encouraged to go check out the graphic art that was submitted and will be featured until November 5. The gallery is always open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you have any further questions regarding the gallery you can contact the Gallery Director, Dr. Naomi Slipp at nslipp@aum.edu. If you have further questions regarding the graphic design show, students are encouraged to reach out to Professor Ghodke or Professor Baine.
