Gamestop is going to start offering a return value on games in their “Guaranteed to Love it” program, but there’s a catch.
The multimillion-dollar company is going to start allowing refunds on games 48 hours after game releases. This is seemingly a great step forward for a company that has been accused in the past of being incredibly unfair when it comes to customer return policies.
However, it is important to note the word “release”, meaning the customer can only return the game, open or not, 48 hours after the game comes out. In essence, you cannot return any games after the two day grace period upon release date.
Furthermore, you cannot get cash back for the product that you buy. You can only get store credit.
George Sherman, CEO of Gamestop, explains, “True to our core promise, today’s announcement is a testament that GameStop is committed to giving power to the players — and our ‘Guaranteed to Love It’ trade promotion offers our customers the peace and mind of buying video games inside our retail stores at no risk, beginning with Days Gone next week.”
While this might not be a permanent fix for the company, it is at least a step forward in the right direction. More
