Midterms came and left like a gentle spring breeze, but now the icy chill of finals are upon us. Finals will begin April 29, 2019. They will conclude on May 2, 2019.
Midterms were our halfway mark through the semester. They were a sign of, “We’re almost done!” or in some cases, “How can we pull our grade up miraculously?” Now, we’re nearing the finish line. You will find students storming the library to find the perfect study area or to check out books. You will find the halls and social lounges silent because everyone is going to be stressing to pass their exams.
However, there is no need to worry. AUM has a variety of resources at your disposal. You can get assistance or tutoring from the Warhawk Academic Success Center, the Learning Center/Instructional Student Lab, or from your professor. Also, there are a few events about studying and test-taking going on before finals begin.
As you head into finals week, try and use this list to help you stay afloat.
- Don’t procrastinate!
- Eat a good breakfast the day of your test.
- Quiz yourself or practice possible test questions.
- Get a good night’s sleep!
- When studying, eliminate distractions.
- Prioritize your time.
- Don’t study while you’re sleepy- you won’t retain information that way.
- Arrive at your exam early so you’ll have time to relax your mind before the test.
- Don’t study for long periods of time- study in segments.
- Be prepared for any question.
Happy studying!
