Montgomery, Ala. – Oct. 31, 2020 – Meditation is a helpful tool to use when trying to create inner-peace and keep yourself stable in a very unstable world. College students may find that meditation can help them focus, find better balance in an unpredictable time and provide an outlet for stress.
AUM will offer a reoccurring event focused on teaching the basics of meditation to students starting Thursday, November 5 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. There are no specific requirements, and no mat is required. It won’t be specific to any religion and will be inclusive and respectful to all walks of life.
Instructors will be focusing on the basics of meditation as a stress relief exercise and a way to practice mindfulness. They will provide guided instruction on how students can incorporate meditation in their everyday lives.
Getting closer to the end of a semester can be a stressful time, especially with these unprecedented circumstances. This class will provide a practical and useful tool that students can take with them into the future. They will be able to use the skills built in these sessions to continue meditation on their own.
This class is open to all students. It will take place in the Taylor Center Room 230 starting November 5 at 3:30 PM.
