This 2017-2018 Warhawk basketball season has proven to be tough one. With our recent change from NAIA to NCAA Division two there have been several changes to the program. Under the guidance of head coach Michael Cheaney he makes sure his players has what it takes on, and off the court. Bigger and tougher opponent’s in this division the Warhawk’s come out of every game with a desire to win. With high hopes coming into the season some of their goals have come up a shot short. With the season taking off in early November many of these players are living out their dream. Our Warhawks are Overall 9-18, Conference 5-14, Home 2-8 Away 7-8, and Neutral 0-2. These boys just want to keep the stride, and the passion that they have. Though playing this whole season on a probationary period they never gave in. Coming off some amazing wins at the buzzer, and some heartbreaking losses, they have performed with great determination and perseverance!
As the old saying goes you cannot win them all. We as a Warhawk nation will always be right behind you cheering you all on.
So, when the Warhawk’s closed out the 2017-2018 season against the University of West Georgia, they will have so much more to bring to the table when the 2018-2019 season rolls around. With high hopes on the hardwood we expect great things out of our men’s basketball team.
