MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Montgomery residents looking for authentic southern comfort food with a Korean twist can find it at Fry and Fork located at the Twin Oaks village shopping center.

Fry and Fork, open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sundays until 9 p.m., is  praised for their welcoming atmosphere and staff attentiveness. “The atmosphere was cozy and the employees had great customer service. They were enthusiastic about assisting me with my questions about their menu,” said Montgomery native Valerie McGhee during her recent visit to the Eastern Boulevard restaurant.

From the outside, Fry and Fork appears modest but the interior presents a lively and modern atmosphere. The inside has neon lights and string lights hanging on the wall along with huge flat screen TVs creating an environment for any sports fan to come and eat while watching the game. The space has a balance of giving people a relaxed dining experience as well as an energetic setting for those who would want one.

My Experience (Shaniece)

When ordering, I thought about getting the honey garlic wings because I had them before. However, this time, I went with the Honey Hot flavor and the wings were still hot, crispy and juicy. However, I wasn’t a big fan of the vinegary taste in the hot sauce. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t my favorite. So, in my opinion the honey garlic wings from my previous visit were better.

The highlight of the meal was the shrimp. The way the restaurant seasons and batters their shrimp, it easily became one of the best shrimp I have ever tasted. In fact this is one of few places that I’ll eat the shrimp whole without leaving the tail behind, which says a lot about the quality. The only downside was the lack of having a wing and shrimp combo. So, my meal became expensive because I had to order the shrimp combo and add a six piece wing on the side, which brought my order total to $23.63.

As for the sides, the fries they serve are steak fries, which usually aren’t my go to. However, the fries weren’t half bad once the wing sauce was added. The food service is efficient, with orders prepared quickly and served hot. The restaurant offers both boneless and bone-in wings in a variety of flavors. The wings are evenly coated and tender with a crunch. Side dishes like hushpuppies and shrimp add a variety to the menu. The hushpuppies and shrimp stand out for their crisp exterior and seasoned flavorful taste.

Established in 2023, Fry and Fork offers the Montgomery area with burgers, wings, fried shrimp, Philly cheesesteak, fish, okra and seafood boils. The Montgomery County Food Inspection score for this restaurant is a 95 from the inspection date on September 24, 2025. The restaurant operates as part of a multi-location chain that is located in two places in Georgia. The owners of this establishment are Yohan Yoon and Miok Sim, who have steadily attracted customers since opening.

According to a Yelp reviewer named Theodore K from Montgomery, Al he said on June 22, 2025:

“The food and service at this place is awesome. The place has the feel of a sports bar, however, like a cross between family dining and Game Center. The atmosphere sure is welcoming. Another spot I’ll recommend for loved ones.”

According to the restaurant’s website, “Fry and Fork blends Southern cuisine with Korean- inspired flavors.” The menu combines traditional comfort food with a Korean taste, and they also offer a range of food along with homemade desserts and beverages intended to complement meals.

Customer service is also a consistent part of the dining or takeout experience. Flor Martinez, a cashier at Fry and Fork, said staff members focus on quality service while maintaining competitive prices. “This establishment is like American Deli but better because it’s around the same price,”Martinez said. I hope y’all try us out and give us a chance because the customer service is good as well as the food.”

Montgomery resident Charlotte Adams said she would give the restaurant a great rating and the atmosphere was calming. “I would give Fry and Fork an A-plus rating because the serving size portion was good and the atmosphere was calming with no loud music,” Adams said.

As Montgomery’s food scene continues to grow, Fry and Fork adds another option to the city. The combination of southern comfort food with Korean-inspired flavors offers variety, all while offering familiar traditional food with a twist.
