The Alabama National Fair brings the city of Montgomery and surrounding areas out to enjoy two weeks of entertainment and delicious food. Every year, there is always a huge concert on the first Saturday to kick off the fun, and this year they featured the famous R&B group Bell Biv Devoe. This group was formed by three former members of the 80’s music group New Edition, and it consists of Ricky Bell, Michael Bivens, and Ronnie Devoe.
Eager fans, including myself, waited passionately to see the group get on stage. I am a huge fan of music in general, but most definitely all New Edition and Bell Biv Devoe music. What made the anticipation of the group even better was the aroma of popcorn, polish sausages, and turkey legs awaiting us after the concert. As everyone waited for the group to come out, the DJ played music to keep the audience energetic and rocking, which made the environment so intriguing to be in since its rare so many people can come together and enjoy each other without any violence.
As BBD finally took the stage, the Garrett Coliseum erupted with cheers and women screaming from all sides of the venue. They performed hit songs like “Candy Girl” and “Can You Stand The Rain”, which were two of their biggest New Edition hits, and it made for an amazing concert. The Alabama National Fair has had a lot of success with getting big names to come out and perform for the huge crowds.
