AUM WASC to Host “Dining in the Dark” and “Bite Me” Day

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you were eating blind or maybe what it is like to be bit by a vampire? The Warhawk Academic Success Center (WASC) is holding two events in mid to late October for the the AUM Connected: Common Reading Program. With the common book for this year being Dracula, these events have a fun connection to Halloween.

Dining in the Dark, which is sponsored by the Center for Disability Services (CDS), will be held on Tuesday, October 17th. This dining event is an experience that will test your senses. Each attendee will be blindfolded while eating their meal to experience eating a meal while not being able to see. With the absence of sight, all other senses are heightened. Dining in the Dark has limited seating. It is requested that those who are interested in attending this event RSVP via myAUM.

On October 25th, Bite Me! Day will take place. This event will begin at the WASC and continue throughout the day. Students are invited to “get bit” by a vampire at the WASC and then as they go around campus to “bite” others. Towards the end of the day, there will be treats and Halloween giveaways at the WASC where the event will end.

For questions or more information about either of these events, please contact the WASC. For Dining in the Dark, you can also contact the CDS.
