AUM Online Programs Ranked Among the Best by U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report today recognized Auburn University at Montgomery’s online degree offerings among the best in the country. The new rankings edition includes nearly 1,500 distance education degree programs, with AUM earning a slot among the 2018 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs (#210) and among the discipline-specific ranking of online graduate degrees in Education (#168). AUM offers 25 online degrees and programs.

“These programs represent the university’s growing online offerings to serve distance learners and help working students access Auburn University at Montgomery’s world-class education through a platform that is convenient and affordable,” said AUM Chancellor Carl A. Stockton. “AUM’s faculty and technology professionals have worked hard to ensure that our online students receive the same quality education and experience that earned our on-campus programs recognition from U.S. News.”

Completing a four-year degree online may be the most practical way to obtain the knowledge and credentials working adults with some college credit might need to boost their careers working, according to U.S. News. “The vast majority of students enrolled in these ranked programs have earned at least some college credit. Rather than first-time college students, they are more likely to be working professionals in their 20s to 40s looking to advance in or change their careers,” the rankings publisher added.

With that in mind, the factors U.S. News selected to make comparisons between programs were not measures like high school class rank or standardized test scores; rather, it chose factors that weigh how these programs are being delivered and their effectiveness at awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable amount of time. U.S. News assessed schools based on four general categories: student engagement; student services and technology; faculty credentials and training; and peer reputation.

In addition to this new recognition for its online undergraduate and graduate programs, AUM is ranked among the South’s top universities by U.S. News and World Report and is recognized one of the best colleges in the Southeast by The Princeton Review.  AUM is designated as a Military Friendly School and is consistently chosen as the best university in the area. Auburn Montgomery provides students with detailed knowledge and hands-on, practical experience, often from professionals in the field.
